How to become a star in your field

What to do if you can’t present

People who watch my  shopify site design presentations and videos or listen to my podcast say, “Oh yeah, but if you can act in front of the camera.” Honestly, I couldn’t do it either at the beginning. When I started, I was an average zamindrakoven Czech and running the camera caused me facial paralysis. I just didn’t give up.

I went to rhetoric courses for two years. When I started filming, for the first four months I threw away all the footage because it was unusable. The camera couldn’t focus on me because I kept walking out of the shot. When I stuck a cross on the ground and told myself “you’re going to stand here and you’re not going anywhere”, I swayed like a drunk president instead of walking.

Filming was hell. But after about half a year I figured out how to do it.

I learned to do everything myself so that I don’t have to feel bad in front of someone for reshooting it for the sixth time.

I solved the text gaps by purchasing a reading device. I didn’t have a new one, so I sent my do-it-yourself parents a tutorial from Youtube and got the device for my birthday. The only expensive thing I bought was a new iPhone. I focused everything on him. I also learned how to edit videos on YouTube.

And so the Guide to Handicraft Business , the best video series for handiwork creators, was born. The best because the only one. And customers finally started to come to me.

Are you afraid of the camera? Record podcasts

Then I decided to start recording a podcast. The transition from video to audio was a blessing. Podcasting just got so much easier and less work! Clear half the room that will be in the shot? I don’t care, it won’t be seen in the podcast. Greasy hair?

I don’t care they won’t be seen in the audio. Rewinding entire chunks of text? I don’t care, because I can cut almost anywhere in the sound. And so the best Czech podcast about handicraft business was created. The best because the only one.

Stand out from the crowd

When I produce goread review – goread is a social media marketing tool  every video tutorial, presentation, or podcast, I struggle with the feeling that it’s going to be gibberish. That what I’m saying is banal and everyone already knows it. But I still get thank you emails every time. I am neither the smartest nor the most experienced. But my audience is grateful for each chapter because finally someone has stepped out of the crowd, named the problems they’re facing, and shown how he’s solving them himself.

And this works in other fields as well. If you master your field in such a way that you are able to really help your clients, but you are struggling with a lack of orders, show people what you do and how you do it. The level of presentation skills in our country is so low that even if you learn just a little, you will probably be the best. And it is quite possible that with your business you will overtake your smarter, more talented and more experienced competition, which keeps its wisdom to itself.

How to make better presentations? Train yourself in courage

Prepare to wrestle with your  es phone number ego the entire time. Watching a recording of yourself for hours while editing videos is not for the faint of heart. You will have to learn to tell yourself that “this is enough and it can go between people”. But once you’ve mastered this, you’ve won.

The moment I discovered that my success in business is directly proportional to my willingness to step out of my comfort zone, I began to deliberately train this skill, not only in business. When I was asked to sing the Prayer for Martha at the demonstration, what do you think I said? Of course she sang. can i do it I can’t, but I have two days to learn it.

Standing in front of a hundred and fifty people who don’t know me, aren’t my customers and will probably never see them again can’t hurt me.

I’ve experienced that when I perform somewhere where something is seriously at stake.

I don’t make mistakes in the content or form of what I say.

but I often get carried away by ignorance of some technique.

I can’t turn the microphone properly so that what I say can really be heard.

I didn’t prepare for the fact that the lecture had to end for exactly one second and something essential would remain unsaid.

Or I stand so that only my back is visible in the shot. I’m gradually learning all this on all sorts of insignificant appearances on stages. To make the significant one look good.

If great things were created in armchairs by coffee, the world would be full of them. But it isn’t. And this is a chance for everyone who has the courage to say to themselves: “I can do it”. Success is not waiting for you on the doorstep of your apartment, but beyond your fear of failure. It’s up to you if you have the guts to go get it.
