How I would like to be caught cold
LinkedIn is a jungle. There are so many people out there trying to “hook up” to get a client. It’s worse than when I was with my friends at the club when I was 20. You have to be careful who you accept and who you don’t. You can usually see quickly who is going to try to instantly bait you and who isn’t.
You always notice one basic thing. There are people who do it badly, others worse and then there are a few who do it really well.
Thinking about it, it would be a good idea to describe how the perfect approach would be to get me cold. It doesn’t matter if it’s LinkedIn or any other channel.
1 Be respectful with the form of contact
2 Be elegant with the follow-up
3 Get to know me a little better
4 A value proposition that makes sense to me
Be respectful with the form of contact
I don’t like it when you call me or write me an email without knowing you at all. Calls from those times when carriers called me on my cell telegram database users list phone to make deliveries and since I live in Germany I hardly pick up anymore. I also don’t like it when you write to me by email, taking advantage of the fact that we are LinkedIn contacts.
The best way for me is to write me a message on social networks. This would have to be either X where you see me less lately or better LinkedIn where I will almost certainly read it.
Being elegant with the follow-up
It is unlikely that I will respond on the first try. For that, I have too many other priorities and responding to a message from an unknown person they now offer strategic analysis is not part of that. I think that I am not a weirdo either, but most people would do it that way. The follow-up should take that into account. There are people, especially those who are young and with little experience, who in the tone of the follow-up message give the impression of being annoyed at not having received an immediate response. If I perceive that tone, it’s over. There will be no response for sure.
Getting to know me a little better
In my case, it is easy to “get to know” me a little better. If you really have such a good proposal, then invest a little time in getting to know snbd host me a little. You have more than 3,000 contents that describe my professional life and touch on aspects of my personal life. The information is out there. It is clear that in the end I am often part of an automation of messages (I have done it myself) so on a large scale there is neither time nor desire to do this.
